Quick Lit: Overlapping letters

Not much work on Quick Lit recently, but one of the few pre-alpha testers complained that it was too hard to tell when letters overlapped, so I made it a little more obvious .

That image shows all the current ways a tile can be modified: red spelling error, overlapping error, or blue selection box.

I also slapped up a quick frontpage for Instant Massive itself, but still no link to Quick Lit as I think I’m going to move it to its own subdomain.

Quick Lit: single player prototype

Over the weekend I started work on Instant Massive’s first game, Quick Lit.

I worked on it all day Saturday, culminating in this 75 letter effort by the end of the day.

On Sunday I spent much less time, but added a few features that nagged me overnight, and again finished with a marathon session, this time reaching 84 letters.

I’m pretty happy with the look, so the tasks now are:

Start getting the multiplayer code written
Simplify the single player code with the goal of getting rid of a few nagging race conditions

I hope to launch a playable beta soon, in the meantime, comments on the screenshots are quite welcome.

Welcome to the Instant Massive blog!

Instant Massive is a place for games that are both instant and massive.

Actually it’s not much of anything yet, because I decided that for once I would launch the blog first, and try to track my development. So here it is, public but unpublicized.
